Today’s St. John Auxiliary, with more than 300 members, continues to be one of the hospital’s biggest benefactors. Among the beneficiaries are St. John’s patients, who for more than half a century have been greeted by warm smiles and compassion from the women and men in pink and blue.
Since the Auxiliary was founded by a group of 12 women in 1951, the volunteer organization has contributed more than 2.5 million hours of volunteer service and raised more than $4 million for hospital equipment and furnishings.
Today Auxiliary members include women and men from diverse backgrounds with one thing in common – a willingness to unselfishly give of their most prized possession – time.
